Memorial Day 2007

Have you ever noticed that often times the best fun you have is when you never really planned it? That's sort of how our Memorial Day was. We didn't have any plans and it rained that morning so we figured we probably wouldn't be do anything at all. But after lunch time, it cleared up. So when Sam woke up from his nap, we decided to head to Starved Rock. If that sounds familiar to some of you, that's because it is right across the street from the The Grizzly Jack Waterpark Resort (aka home of the PW2 2007 Reunion site.) Anyway, once we got outside the main entrance, we changed our minds and headed about one more mile South to Matthiessen State Park . Here are a few pics of our day yesterday.

Sam and I played down in one of the lower canyons while Dh and the older kids hiked on. Sam was getting tired of walking by this time and had a blast playing on these stepping stones and then later, in the water itself.



Needless to say, he was a tired boy by the end of the day!
