Sam's New Wheels

Sam LOVES cars! He loves to play with them, look at them, make other objects into them, and pretend he IS one. At any given time of day, you might find him with a Matchbox car running it up and down the curved arm of the foyer bench, up and down the stairs, or even up and down mommy's arm (those make awesome racetracks, don't you know?)

Somehow, we ended up with a free subscription to Car and Driver magazine. Sam is the only one in our house interested in reading it, lol! OK....so he can't read yet, but that doesn't stop him for sitting down with the mag and perusing all the beautiful cars that grace it's pages!

But alas, the car fascination doesn't stop here! Sam likes to pretend he *is* a car! We have an open floor plan that allows for him to vroom-vroom in a large circular track through the kitchen, into the foyer, through the living room and dining room and back into the kitchen where he will make a pitstop for mommy to 'honk his horn (aka nose)' before he is off on the race again!

The only thing this little Nascar driver has been missing was a real car of his own. One that he can climb in and drive to his heart's content! None of that trying to sit on the play cars and scoot them around the around the house, kind of cars, but a *real* car for a *real boy*! At least, that was until grandma showed up last night!

See grandmas are awesome about fulfilling your deepest most longed for desires! And Sam was not to be disappointed when his Me Me showed up last night with a brand-spanking new shiny red Luxury Sport Coupe! What wouldn't we all give for a grandma like that, eh?

He played outside with his new car, climbing in and out, opening and closing the doors, folding down the seat and putting his toys on the shelf behind it, checking out the headlights (head first through the front window!) and sunroof, to his little heart's content! Then it was time to come in for supper. Sam was having *none* of that! So here comes Paul with Sam AND the car, into the dining room! Sam sat in his car while the rest of us ate dinner. There was no getting him out of it without a temper tantrum, in which event, he wasn't going to eat dinner anyway, so we gave up trying! The car is still in our living room (or is it a garage now?) this morning where he has been playing since he got up!

Roman would be ALL over that! That looks awesome. We use to have one for our older boys when they were little, we may have to invest in another for his bday. That was very sweet of his MeMe!
